2017: £50k Challenge – 4 x Mountain Climb/ Zip Wire Challenge/ 26KM SWAT Walk

Your One Wish is dedicated to granting life changing wishes to underprivileged and disabled children. We go above and beyond to ensure that we have the necessary funds and resources to be able to do so.

In a small space of time, we have seen the amazing affects that granting any wish can have on these young lives, we have seen how much happiness that comes with granting a wish and this is the driving force for us to continue to push ourselves and continue to do what we do.

In 2017, our Trustees along with some amazing volunteers signed up for the first of many challenges. In the space of 9 months, they successfully completed the climbing of 4 mountains, a zip wire challenge and a 26km SWAT Walk!

The adventurous journey began with the worlds fasted and longest ZIP wire in Europe, located in Bethesda at Velocity. Once this was successfully completed, the mountain challenge began.
Starting with Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, the group climbed 1085 meters above sea level! They then moved on to Scafell Pike which is the highest mountain in England, at an elevation of 978 meters above sea level. It is located in the Lake District National Park.

There was a short break from the mountain climbs after Scafell Pike, where in this time the group completed the 26KM SWAT Walk
With a zip wire challenge, 26KM SWAT Walk and two mountain climbs successfully completed, the Your One Wish fundraisers then moved onto the highest mountain in the British Isles, located in Scotland, Ben Nevis. Ben Nevis stands at 1345 meters above sea level.

Having triumphed at climbing the 3 UK mountains, the final quest began… mountain four was Mount Kilimanjaro! Mount Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania. It is approximately 4900 meters from it base to 5895 meters above sea level.

The group completed all challenges and were able to raise an astounding £59,544 for Your One Wish.
