Your One Wish – Kickin’ It With Kudos
Saturday 9th May 2020
On Saturday 9th May 2020, Kudos Music – an Uxbridge based events and entertainment company held a 12-hour DJ marathon in order to raise funds for Your One Wish.
The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly affected families, especially low-income groups and those who have lost their jobs. UK food banks are facing a record high demand during the coronavirus crisis and are struggling to keep up.
Ordinarily, Your One Wish raise funds in order to grant wishes for vulnerable and disadvantaged families. We usually raise donations by encouraging volunteers to take park in challenges such as the London Marathon, long distance bike rides and mountain treks.
The team at Kudos were due to be taking part in our London to Amsterdam bike ride which was scheduled to take place in June 2020 and the Everest Basecamp Trek which was due to take place in November 2020. Since travel is currently restricted, the company decided that they still wanted to do something to support our charity. Your One Wish came to the decision to raise funds to provide food banks, homeless shelters and school banks with vital supplies. As a result, Kudos took on a 12-hour DJ challenge to aid our latest campaign.
From 3pm to 2am, the company’s 14 DJ’s took turns to spin bhangra, urban and mainstream party tracks via a Facebook and YouTube live stream. They were joined by a host of other performers including UK producer Steel Banglez and British Asian starts Juggy D and HDhami.
As of Sunday 10th May 2020, Kudos’s event had raised an astonishing £33,749.
We have so far and will continue to use 100% of these donations to purchase supplies and deliver them directly to food banks nationwide, local schools, homeless shelters and soup kitchens.
Your One Wish would like to take this opportunity to thank all at Kudos Music and everyone who helped to put on the unforgettable event. A special thank you to everyone who donated, every penny makes such a huge difference. Please see our Instagram, Facebook & Twitter pages for more information of all the organisations we have donated to during the COVID-19 pandemic.
